The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) said it would hold its 21st teleconference meeting on Wednesday, November 4, to review the internal security situation in the country and the status of the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
Nigerian Tribune reports that a statement issued by NGF’s head of media and publicity, Abdulrazaque Bello-Barkindo, said the forum would also have an overview from different quarters arising from the CACOVID palliatives distribution.
Legit.ng gathered that the chairman of the forum and governor of Ekiti state, John Kayode Fayemi would remark on the most contemporary issues affecting the country.
The statement read:
“These two items form the fulcrum of the invitation to governors to join the 21st NGF teleconference meeting which is scheduled for tomorrow Wednesday 4th November 2020, according to the director-general of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF), Asishana Bayo Okauru.
“As usual, the chairman of the forum and governor of Ekiti state, Dr John Kayode Fayemi will remark on the most contemporary issues affecting the country since the last (20th NGF teleconference) meeting.
Bello-Barkindo said only the presentation on the digital curriculum initiative for Basic and Secondary Education ingeniously tagged the e-Gamma solutions Ltd would be deliberated upon.
“Before the floor is open for any other business, the regular updates on the SFTAS program and the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa committee which liaises between the PTF on COVID-19 and the NGF will both provide an update.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that governors from the northern region along with some top government officials held a meeting in Kaduna state on Tuesday, November 2.
It was reported that some northern traditional rulers led by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, were also invited for the discussion.
