Liverpool survived West Ham United's scare after coming from one goal down to claim a 2-1 victory over West Ham United at Anfield.

The triumph saw Jurgen Klopp's men stretch their unbeaten run on home turf to 63 games - equalling the record they initially set in 1980.

Pablo Fornals gave the Hammers the lead just after 10 minutes into kickoff with a stunning low but powerful shot from the edge of the 18-yard box.

The 24-year-old benefited from Joe Gomez's poor clearance before powering the ball into the bottom left corner of Alisson Becker's goal post.

However, Mohamed Salah was able to hand the Reds a lifeline in the 42nd minute through the spot-kick having won the penalty himself at the right side of the visitors' danger zone.

The Merseyside outfit took the lead for the first time in the meeting through Diogo Jota in the 77th minute after a moment of a scramble in the six-yard box but the goal was chopped off.

Five minutes to the end of the meeting, the 23-year-old Portuguese made a superb run to connect with Xherdan Shaqiri's unstoppable pass and fired home from close range with his right foot.

The outcome also made Jurgen Klopp's men the second side in Premier League history to concede the first goal in three consecutive home matches but still went ahead to win all three.

Blackburn Rovers are the first team to achieve such a feat in the English topflight in November 2009.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are the only team with a better home win record at Stamford Bridge having gone 86 games unbeaten but that came to an end in 2008.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Liverpool summer signing Diogo Jota scored for the third straight game as the Reds came from behind to beat West Ham United 2-1 at Anfield on Saturday, October 31.

In what was a fascinating game, West Ham took a deserved lead rough Spanish midfielder Pablo Fornals' as early as the 10th minute.

But Mohamed Salah and Jota turned the game around for the home team as they maintain their unbeaten status at home.

They have now displaced Everton at the top of the table temporarily pending the outcome of the Toffees game against Newcastle United at the Goodison Park.
