Manchester City have won the race to sign Partizan youngster Filip Stevanovic, beating rivals Manchester United in the process.

According to a report on Metro, the deal for the winger has not been finalized, but it will go through in January.

Stevanovic, 18, was linked with a move to Man United over the summer but the Red Devils spent their money elsewhere, bringing in Donny van de Beek, Facundo Pellistri and Edinson Cavani.

This encouraged Manchester City to move swiftly for Stevanovic and they are now close to agreeing a deal for the teenager worth just £6m.

Stevanovic already has 54 appearances for Partizan, scoring 12 goals in the process.

The 2020/21 Serbian Super Liga started in August and he has started 10 of the 12 games so far, scoring three goals.

Man United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keenly interested in the Germany-born Turkey star who is said to be worth around £30million.

The 26-year-old’s contract at AC Milan will lapse next summer but report claims that he could speak with other clubs outside Italy as from January.

Calhanoglu joined the Serie A giants from German outfit Bayer Leverkusen in 2017 for a fee totaling £20million.

It was also gathered that Milan are preparing to offer him an extended three-year-contract, but terms are yet to be agreed.

And now the Red Devils are looking to entice him with a five-year-contract that will see him earn £5.2million per season should he agree to move to England.
