Anthony Joshua is desperate for a fight against Tyson Fury for him to become 'undisputed champion', but he must either battle Oleksandr Usyk first or give the Ukrainian one of his titles.
Usyk who is scheduled to fight Derek Chisora on Saturday, October 31, stands in between Joshua and Fury as he might likely demand his shot for the WBO belt.
Joshua currently holds the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO titles and his mandatory challenger for the WBO is Usyk who is said to be interested in the title which the Brit won from Andy Ruiz Jr in December 2019.
Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn said, as quoted by UK outlet Mirror:
"So if Joshua beats Pulev and we make Fury against AJ, we'd write to the WBO and say, 'Do you want to do the fight with Tyson Fury against Anthony Joshua.
"If it’s the latter, you go to Usyk and say, 'Do you want to allow this fight and he says, Yes but what are you going to give me?' Or no; then you deal with it from there.
"I would be willing to say, subject to speaking to Anthony and what Fury wants, that we would be willing to vacate the WBO title straight after that fight, to let Usyk fight for it."
Meanwhile, Bulgarian boxer Kubrat Pulev has identified a number of qualities he is looking out for ahead of his heavyweight bout against Anthony Joshua.
Both fighters are scheduled to face-off on December 12 at the O2 Arena in London after their earlier date was cancelled due to outbreak of the deadly coronavirus.
The 39-year-old Bulgarian is challenging the British-Nigeria pugilist for the WBA, IBF and WBO titles in a mandatory fight.
However, Legit.ng earlier reported that Anthony Joshua took a swipe at female celebrities while cautioning his followers on social media as regards the kinds of things they see as priorities and what they spend money on.
The Brit boxer in his post hinted that most female celebrities prefer to spend heavily on material things rather than having money for other important purposes.
According to him, he prefers using a plastic bag with an amount of £5000 (about N2.4million) in it than using a Louis Vuitton bag with an amount of £100 (about N50,000) in it.
