Josep Maria Bartomeu who is the president of Spanish giants Barcelona has stated emphatically that the Catalans will win a title this season with Lionel Messi as the captain.
Bartomeu also claimed that the club never wanted the Argentina international to leave the Camp Nou during the transfer window despite being linked with an exit.
Things turned sour last season at the Camp Nou as Barcelona failed to win any title and also suffered an embarrassing defeat against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

It was a tough situation for Barcelona chiefs as they had to invite Lionel Messi's father for talks before he eventually convinced his son to stay.
Messi's current contract at Barcelona will expire at the end of the ongoing League season and Barcelona chiefs are now trying to make him commit his future to the club.
According to the report on GOAL, his decision not to sell Lionel Messi during the transfer window was in the best interest of the club.
The 57-year-old Spaniard explained below.
“Our priority was keeping Messi as part of our new project so I decided against starting a discussion.
“I had been accused of forcing his departure in order to balance our books. Well, no, we put the interests of the club first and didn't want to reinforce a direct rival. We made that decision knowing that we would be criticized for it.
“The project is very interesting with young people and veterans, like Messi. And I think that with him, we are going to win a title this season."
