However, the player missed his country’s 3-0 win over Sweden in the European competition as he headed back home in a private air ambulance.
The Juventus striker has also not featured in his club’s Serie A games against Crotone and Hellas Verona.
He was not also in action during the Old Lady’s Champions League game against Dynamo Kiev and there are chances he might miss a chance to reignite his rivalry with Lionel Messi as Juventus host Barcelona in the Champions League on Wednesday, October 28.
According to Vincenzo Spadafora, who is Italy's sports minister, Ronaldo failed to respect the country's laws. He said as cited in GOAL:
"Cristiano did not respect the protocol. There is an investigation by the Federal Prosecutor's Office to prove it.
"The virus has taught us that no one is exempt, obviously they are all people who have tried to respect the protocols as much as possible, but the only solution, in the end, is to stay at home."
Ronaldo tested positive for coronavirus for the second time and he is in doubt for the showdown against Barcelona.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Lionel Messi is prepared for Barcelona’s massive UEFA Champions League cracker against Juventus scheduled for Wednesday, October 28, and the captain hopes his rival Ronaldo will also be available.
According to the UEFA self-isolation guidelines, the Portuguese attacker must produce a negative coronavirus test well in advance of the game against Barcelona.
And ahead of the Champions League fixture, Messi says he wishes Ronaldo recovers as quickly as possible.
