EndSARS: Sanwo-Olu urges Lagosians to disregard ethnic, divisive videos on social media

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos state has advised Lagosians to disregard inciting videos on social media meant to create tension and encourage ethnic conflicts in the state.

The Nation reports that the governor said the videos were the tools of anarchists, whose plan is to create hatred and divisiveness for which Lagos is not known.

Legit.ng had previously reported that the fake news, misinformation and unfounded rumours in the videos have caused the loss of lives and destruction of property in the state.

He said:

“Inciting videos of this nature are not what our land needs now, following the loss of lives and destruction that fake news, misinformation and unfounded rumours have triggered in our dear state in the last couple of days."

The government appealed to Lagosians to disregard the calls of ethnic and religious jingoists as well as agents of destruction who are on a mission to destroy the state by pitching us against one another for yet to be ascertained reasons.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that the All Progressives Congress (APC) asked the youths to call off their demonstrations following the EndSARS protests rocking almost all the states in the country.

It was reported that the party said it would support President Buhari in implementing the protesters' demands in the interest of peace and unity to return in the country.

In another report, President Buhari asked his ministers to relocate to their home states.

The president's action was to douse the tension caused by the demonstrations over the activities of the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad.

The ministers were scheduled to meet with stakeholders to explain the federal government’s efforts to meet the demands of the youths.
