- Mesut Ozil has been backed by Arsenal stars after being snubbed from the club's Europa League and the Premier League squad
- Mikel Arteta exempted the German midfielder from his 25-man squad to execute this season's campaign on the continental and domestic scene
- The former Germany international may only have to settle for the FA Cup if Arteta decides to include him in his team
Mesut Ozil is getting support from his Arsenal teammates after he was dropped by Mikel Arteta in the Gunners Europa League and Premier League squad.
The out of favour midfielder will have to end his eight-year spell at the Emirates on a sad note after rendering his last season useless.
The only chance for the 31-year-old to feature for Arsenal is when the FA Cup commences in January 2021, which also depends solely on the Spanish manager.
However, Ainsley Maitland-Niles told a news conference ahead of the Europa League clash with Rapid Vienna that the rest of the squad are behind the World Cup winner.
"The club's behind Mesut, we're a team, that's always going to be the case until Mesut decides to make his decision and what he wants to do."
"Ultimately, we're focused on the game for now. Then when we get back to the training ground we can talk about if he wants to go by as a team.
"We're focused on the game as of now. And when we do finish the game and the three points are secured, then we can focus on going back to the training ground and solving the situation as a team."
The England new invitee was also asked about Arteta's decision to omit Ozil from the Europa League and Premier League squads and he replied:
"That's something you're gonna have to ask the club.
"Us as players, we haven't really thought about it much.
"We've literally been on the go the whole day. We've had our training session and took our flight here, so we haven't had much time to sit down and process anything as a team."
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that German midfielder Mesut Ozil has expressed disappointment after being snubbed from Arsenal's Premier League squad for this campaign.
This is coming days after the 31-year-old was excluded from the Gunners team that will campaign in the Europa League.
Despite having one more year on his current deal, the former Real Madrid midfielder might not make any appearance for the North Londoners.
