Luis Suarez found the back of the net in Atletico Madrid’s 2-0 win over Celta Vigo in the La Liga on Saturday, October 17 after the Uruguayan opened the scoring in the 6th minute.

The 33-year-old now becomes the second fastest player to reach the 150 goals milestone in the competition in the 21st century, after Cristiano Ronaldo (140).

He joined Atletico Madrid after he was told by new Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman than he is not in his plans.

Koeman replaced sacked manager Quique Setién and he has been mandated by the club owners to ensure the club’s wage bill is reduced - and some players will need to leave.

Despite Suarez scoring at least 20 goals for the club in each of his six seasons since his arrival, the former Liverpool striker had his contract terminated at the Catalan club.

He scored a total of 198 goals in 283 appearances for the Camp Nou side, but despite that, the club showed him the exit door.

And since joining the Diego Simeone-tutored side, the striker has started brightly scoring three goals in just four games.

He has reached 150 goals in La Liga in just 195 games, with only a five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo who sent records tumbling while at Real Madrid.

Meanwhile, Zinedine Zidane has been accused of poor handling of former Real Madrid star James Rodriguez after the player’s flying start at Premier League club Everton, SunSport reports.

The Colombian star signed a two-year deal with the option to extend his contract at Goodison Park for a further year.
