Lily Afegbai breaks silence over mom's alleged involvement in police brutality

- Lilian Afegbai has taken to social media to defend her mum who is a former police officer

- On the evening of October 16, the actress received heat online after old reports surfaced online which claimed her mother had taken the life of a 400 level UniBen student

- The reports had started re-circulating online after Lilly did a video in which she blasted Nigerians for criticizing people drinking alcoholic beverages at Lekki tollgate protest

- In new posts shared to her Instagram page, the actress provided documents which proved her mother's innocence

Hours after getting dragged online over the alleged crimes of retired police officer mom, Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Lilian Afegbai, has taken to social media to break her silence.

According to Sahara Reporters, the murder of Momodu Ibrahim allegedly by Afegbai had generated controversy so much that Edo Political Forum (EPF), based in Benin City, urged the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed D. Abubakar, to investigate the killing.

Ibrahim who was a student of the University of Benin had reportedly been buried hurriedly without the consent of his family, the report stated.

In response to the accusations against her mom, the Nollywood actress in a lengthy caption stated that her mum did not kill anyone to the 'best of her knowledge'.

Lillian further added that the person who was responsible for the death of Ibrahim was an officer attached to her mother - Amadin Idahosa - and that he had been sentenced to life imprisonment.

She wrote:

"My spirit will not be dampened by the death threats and cyberbullying. I am a Nigerian youth and we deserve a better Nigeria and I will continually fight until it is fixed. As per my mother being dragged for murder, to the best of my knowledge my mother who is now retired did not kill anyone. The police officer (AMADIN IDAHOSA) that was attached to my mother’s station who killed the suspect was sentenced to life imprisonment by Justice R. Irele-Ifijeh of the High Court of Justice, Edo State in Charge No: B/CD/24C/2014.
