Premier League action returns with a bang on Saturday, October 17 with a number of exciting games in the horizon.
For several football clubs, excitement also comes in the fact that they could see some players make their debuts in the league this weekend.
Aside from titan clashes including the Merseyside derby and Arteta coming up against his master Pep Guardiola in Arsenal vs Manchester City, fans can also look forward to a number of high-profile fresh faces in the league this weekend.
Here are five big names who recently joined the Premier League and could be making their debuts:
1. Thomas Partey – Arsenal
This will be one of the most exciting prospects in the Premier League, particularly this weekend as Arsenal prepare to take on Manchester City in a tough league encounter.
2. Alex Telles – Manchester United
Manchester United is, at the moment, a club in shambles especially in defence as they have shipped in a massive 11 goals in their opening three league outings.
The club’s top bosses have come under intense scrutiny for their inactivity in the transfer market and they responded by bringing in promising left back Alex Telles from Poruguese side FC Porto.
Telles is set to bring in some much needed competition to Luke Shaw, who has had some lackluster performances for the Red Devils in recent weeks.
3. Gareth Bale – Tottenham
The Prodigal son has finally returned to North London, albeit after eight years, but Tottenham fans will be extremely delighted to have their talisman Gareth Bale back in the side once again.
Jose Mourinho’s men clash with Westham in a London derby and Bale, who is on his way to full fitness, is highly likely to feature.
The big question will however be whether Bale will be able to reciprocate the form that saw Real Madrid pursue him nearly a decade ago.
4. Rhian Brewster – Sheffield United
The former Liverpool man joined Sheffield United for a fee of for a fee of £23.5m and the Blades, who have made a shaky start to the new campaign , could really use some firepower up front.
5. Hakim Ziyech – Chelsea
Frank Lampard’s men welcome 11th placed Southampton in the weekend and will hope to build on the momentum they garnered before the international break.
One of Lampard’s biggest challenges has been picking a consistent starting 11 for match days and with the potential return of Hakim Ziyech, the gaffer might have more difficult choices to make.
Ziyech, who is yet to make a competitive appearance for Chelsea, returned to the pitch during Morocco's 3-1 win over Senegal, an indication that he might be match fit.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Thomas Partey was welcomed at by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette for the first time on Arsenal’s official channels.
The £45million signing Partey was seen in a footage when he arrived at the Emirates’ training ground filmed arriving at the club’s training ground, and was greeted by club captain Aubameyang and strike partner Lacazette.
