- Paul Pogba publicly declared his interest in joining Spanish club Real Madrid
- Zinedine Zidane has always shown interest in having the Frenchman in his team
- Reports say Manchester United stars are backing Pogba to remain at Old Trafford
Paul Pogba who earlier declared interest in playing for Spanish champions Real Madrid is having the backing of his team-mates at Old Trafford club Manchester United.
The 27-year-old Frenchman recently declared interest in joining Zinedine Zidane’s side during the international break.
He said he is doing everything possible to take the Red Devils to the next level, but he dreams of playing for Real Madrid in the near future.
He said: "Today, I am still at Manchester United and I am fighting to try to take the club even higher.
"Yes, all footballers would like to play for Real Madrid. Maybe it is a dream. It is a dream for me, why not one day?"
Manchester Evening news are reporting that Pogba’s popularity is not affected by his vocal interest in joining the Spanish giants, adding that the player is revered by his team-mates.
Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola has always hoped for the player to move away from the English club especially when the star admitted he wants a new challenge.
Zinedine Zidane would love to work with the £89million United No.6 at the Bernabeu. After a season disrupted by injuries and coronavirus, he stayed put this summer.
Another report say Pogba is also considering a move to FC Barcelona on a free transfer next summer.
The 2018 Fifa World Cup winner's current deal with the Red Devils expires in 2021 having joined them from Juventus in 2016.
Reports claim the Old Trafford outfit has a one-year extension clause which might be triggered once his deal runs out next year.
The Blaugrana were unable to sign their major targets during the last transfer window owing to cash, and sources claim they will make a swoop for the midfielder in January.
Pogba has been a transfer target for Real Madrid and Juventus but none appears to be serious about the move despite making it clear he would like to play for Zinedine Zidane in 2019.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that France youngster Eduardo Camavinga exchanged jerseys with Cristiano Ronaldo after their UEFA Nations League clash over the weekend.
The gesture was surprisingly incredible for the teenage sensation that he took to social media to say he won't wash the top.
Both the World Cup winners and the European champions failed to find the back of the net all through their encounter at Stade de France.
