Torey Lanez's father, Sonstar Peterson, has taken to Instagram to declare his support for the rapper, who was recently charged with two felonies.

Peterson maintains his son's innocence and posted a quote from Lanez who declared that "a charge is not a conviction". Peterson then captioned his post with a verse from the Bible.

Lanez has been dominating headlines all over the world since being charged. The shooting saga lent itself to social media discussion as it initially jumped into the public consciousness after Megan confirmed she had been shot in the feet. The chatter online was drawn out and discussed widely on Twitter as people added their opinions and weighed in.

The discussions happening online were warring back and forth with allegations in anticipation of Lanez's arraignment hearing. Some fans maintained his innocence and said he was taking the fall for someone in his team.

Others applauded the charges and said that Megan gave Tory more than enough chance to admit to the crime but now he was getting what he deserves.

Many of Megan's fans have responded to the whole situation with anger, saying that much of the talk has been focused on her when she is the victim in the situation.

Tory Lanez was officially charged with the shooting of rapper Megan Thee Stallion, during an argument that transpired back in July. Lanez will be arraigned on two felony charges that will be brought by the Los Angeles prosecutor's office.

The two felony charges are assault with a firearm and carrying an unregistered and loaded firearm in a vehicle. The complaint states Lanez “inflicted great bodily injury” on Megan Thee Stallion once she had exited an SUV.

Daystar Peterson is Lanez's given name. If he does get convicted, he will be faced with a maximum sentence of about 23 years. He was arrested on the night the shooting occurred but released subsequent to posting bail. Megan Thee Stallion, whose legal name is Megan Pete, is identified as Megan P in the case.

Initially she had declined to point the finger at Lanez but later posted an Instagram video that Tory had shot her, indicating what had caused the incident and asked for him to stop lying about it.
