A woman, Samantha Butter-Hassan, has married the only co-worker who turned up for a group hiking years ago.
Samantha said years ago, she sent an email inviting all her co-workers for a weekend get-together in form of a hiking activity.
She said out of the 15 people she was working with at the company, only one person from the web development team, someone she hardly spoke to, came.
In a post on Sunday, October 4, the woman disclosed that to mark their 6th wedding anniversary, they would be hiking.
Many who commented on her tweet were marvelled at how the absence of other workers she invited turned out to be a blessing.
As at the time writing this report, her tweet has over 1 million likes with thousands of comments and retweets.
Below are some of the reactions from people:
"Does anyone of you have a plan that would actually work with African girls? These ones you ask 'who wants to go for a drink this weekend?" All of them come. The talkative one won't let you have a min with the one you like.'
"I love it. I must know...did he send side emails telling everyone else not to go?"
"Nice. I did something similar with my church small group, but I made the time like 7 am “for parking” because I knew the only person who’d actually show up was the girl I actually wanted to spend time with. (Our 4th wedding anniversary is next month.)"
"Met my husband in a scout hut lol. I had volunteered to help with the cubs and my husband to be was the older scout leader. Anyhow I was bent over a table when he came in and saw that my bum was on fire, (candle too close)anyhow he smacked it to put it out."
"My wife and I met at work, got married 6 months and 3 days after we met and will soon celebrate 19 years together. We have 4 kids. We both wish you at least as much longevity and happiness as we've enjoyed."
