Roma and Italian football legend Francesco Totti has lost his father Enzo to deadly Coronavirus at the age of 76 throwing his family to deep mourning.

Enzo who supported the football career of his son and who made sure that his dream of becoming a great footballer was fulfilled died on Monday, October 12 at Lazzaro Spallanzani Hospital.

He left behind Francesco and his younger brother Riccardo as well as his wife Fiorella according to the report on UK Sun.

Italian side Roma have taken to social media to commiserate with the family of Totti over the death of their loved one.

When Francesco Totti was playing for Roma, Enzo would always be available to watch his son and would also travel to every away game.

Totti spent his entire career at Roma winning a Serie A title, two Coppa Italia titles, and two Supercoppa Italiana titles.

He is the second-highest scorer of all time in Italian League history with 250 goals.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Ilenia Matilli who is a fan of Italian giants Roma woke up from coma after nine months thanks to the video message sent by the club's legend Francesco Totti.

Last year December, Ilenia Matilli was reported to have had an accident which killed her friend Martina and left her in a serious state of coma since then.

The 19-year-old lady suffered a serious head injury and was unable to do anything since she was admitted into the hospital in Rome.

Since her admission, her parents have been running around to make sure that she recovers from the injury she sustained.

In their efforts to help Ilenia Matilli to recover, her parents used to play the anthem of Roma at her bedside, but that was unable to help her.

According to the report, Ilenia Matilli woke up from coma when she heard the voice of Francesco Totti in a video played beside her.
