Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has been congratulated by the leadership and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Southwest.
They also congratulated the entire people of the state for the victory recorded during the Saturday, October 10 gubernatorial election.
This was disclosed in a statement by the party's zonal publicity secretary, Karounwi Oladapo.
According to the party, the people of Ondo state spoke clearly and loudly in a peaceful, credible and transparent election.
The party also said that the fresh mandate is an attestation to Akeredolu's performance in the last four years.
It added that the governor will not disappoint or betray the trust and confidence of the people of Ondo state.
In a related development, APC applauded INEC and security agencies, over what they described as peaceful conduct of the Saturday’s governorship election in Ondo state.
This commendation was given by Comrade Mustapha Saliu, secretary of the APC’s National Campaign Council for Ondo 2020.
However, he described allegations that the APC used money to buy its votes as a "flimsy excuse coming from a particular political party’’.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that Dr Kayode Ajulo, a constitutional lawyer said all major parties in the just concluded Ondo state governorship election are guilty of vote-buying.
Ajulo who was also a former general secretary of the Labour Party (LP) disclosed this in a statement issued in Lagos on Sunday, October 11.
According to him, the major political parties were all involved in influencing voters for the election, using money.
