- Some Nigerian parents have kicked against the scrapping of Special Anti-Robbery Squad by the inspector general of police, Mohammed Adamu

- Adamu bowed to pressure from Nigerians who took to the streets to demand disbandment of the police unit

- The police unit is notorious for unlawfully arresting Nigerian youths and extorting them, extra-judicial killings and other crimes

A video has emerged on social media in which some parents could be seen protesting the disbandment of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

This is coming after the inspector general of police, Mohammed Adamu, scrapped the police unit as a result of the nationwide protest against police brutality.

The parents came out in their numbers and raised their placards while chanting "we want SARS".

It should be noted that a lot of Nigerian youths are victims of the criminal activities of SARS operatives.

The operatives of this police unit also harass Nigerian youths in possession of iPhone or those wearing dreadlocks.

In a similar story, award-winning Nigerian artiste Wizkid has advised Nigerians to shun anyone who says they do not have a voice.

The Joro crooner made the statement during the EndSARS protest in London where he addressed Nigerians.

Reacting to the disbandment of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), Wizkid said Nigerian youths have a voice and that the country deserves a good government.

He said:

“As I speak to you right now, on my way here, the IGP in Nigeria has disbanded SARS. So Nigerian youths, don’t let anyone tell you you don’t have a voice. You all have a voice, and Nigerians deserve good government. Right now, I want to say thank you to everyone for coming out today. We have achieved our goal and this is just the beginning. Thank you so much for coming out. We won. Now let’s go home.”
