The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Sunday, October 11, declared its support for the federal government’s decision to disband the dreaded and hated Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS).

The party also declared its support for the reform of the Nigeria Police Force.

APC disclosed this in a statement issued by Yekini Nabena, its deputy national publicity secretary.

According to the party, the scrapping of SARS shows Buhari's resolve to achieve better policing and necessary reforms.

He said:

“With benefit of experience and public outcry over the operations of the disbanded SARS, the APC is confident that the new policing arrangement promised by the Inspector-General of Police, Adamu Mohammed will balance the need to effectively combat armed robbery, kidnapping and other violent crimes in the country."

A Twitter user said:

"Congratulations Nigerians. Y’all did it. This is just the beginning tho. But yes we can go all the way. Now we can help the police get enough funding from the few thieves holding it at the top. So they can police us right."

Popular comedian Mr Marcaroni tweeted:

"Nigerian Youths!! we have a voice!! We must use it to the fullest!! Our demands need to be clear!! We need to be sure that all our demands are being met!! Yes #EndSARS!! But we need more accountability!! We need Justice!! We need peace of mind!!!
