Manchester United crisis look set to deepen after centre back Eric Bailly looked to have picked up an injury while on international duty.

The Red Devils have made a torrid start to the season, with only one win from their opening three games.

In addition, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men have shipped in a massive 11 goals in their last three games alone, bringing to question the quality of the side’s defence.

There was some optimism that perhaps a combination of Bailly and Harry Maguire in defence would lead to a formidable partnership at the back.

That in itself will have to wait, as the Ivory Coast international hobbled off the pitch in a friendly against Belgium on Thursday, October 8.

Ivory Coast eventually forced a 1-1 draw against a top Belgium side, but United fans will be a tad worried about Bailly.

The powerful centre back, however, took to quell injury concerns as he claimed after the match that he was "just fatigued".

Since his arrival at Old Trafford from Villareal under Jose Mourinho in 2016, Bailly has been plagued with injuries which have hindered him from being an established figure in the first team.

His teammate Victor Lindelof, who arrived a year after him, somehow amassed more minutes on the pitch because of his consistent performances as far as fitness is concerned.

Other Manchester United players on international duty on Thursday included Marcus Rashford and Harry Maguire who were both unused substitutes in England’s 3-0 win over Wales at the Wembley Stadium.

For a hamstring injury, players are typically out for at least three weeks. If this is the case, Bailly could potentially miss clashes against Newcastle, Paris Saint Germain in the Champions League and Chelsea.

United will be boosted by the fact that Alex Tuanzebe is slowly regaining his fitness and is set to be ready after the international break, but with the sale of Chris Smalling to Roma, United do not have a lot of options at the back.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Paul Pogba has admitted that he would love to play for Spanish giants Real Madrid in the near future.

However, the 27-year-old who is currently on international duty for France insisted that he is happy playing at Man United.

The Frenchman who has been on several occasions linked out of Old Trafford said that it is every player's dream to play for Los Bancos.
