Luis Suarez has explained he knew that Lionel Messi felt bad about his departure at Spanish giants Barcelona after spending six years together at the Nou Camp.

The Uruguayan striker and Lionel Messi established a formidable pairing up front at Barcelona where they both won the Spanish La Liga and the Champions League titles.

But Barcelona were not in their best form last season as they failed to win any title in all competitions which made the club's chiefs to sack Setien.

And after his departure for Atletico Madrid, Lionel Messi to to social media to explain that Luis Suarez deserved a good farewell from Barcelona chiefs.

According to the report on GOAL, Suarez explained below.

"I was not surprised about Messi because I know him too well, I knew the pain he felt, as I did.
"He felt they kicked me out of the club because of the forms. There were other ways to do things correctly with me. They were six long years and that bothered him too. I see him as a friend and he knows how badly we suffered.
"My family wanted to see me happy. There are some strange things at Barcelona like sending you to train separately because you were not considered for the game.''
