Chelsea new goalkeeper Edouard Mendy has suffered a thigh injury while on international duty with Senegal in which Frank Lampard may be forced to recall Kepa Arrizabalaga to the first team.
Edouard Mendy has impressed the Blues' fans in his first two appearances against Spurs and Crystal Palace for Chelsea following his £20million transfer from Rennes.
This latest development will not be a good one for Chelsea boss Frank Lampard who has been happy with the arrival of Mendy after being recommended by Petr Cech.
Kepa Arrizabalaga's blunders for Chelsea since he joined the Stamford Bridge landlords made the Blues' chiefs to accept signing Mendy.
The 28-year-old is now the first African goalkeeper who will play for Premier League side Chelsea in history.
Senegal will be facing Morocco in a friendly match on Friday night, October 9, and the country's football body have confirmed that goalkeeper Mendy won't be part of the squad.
After being taken for scans in Rabat, Mendy has now been sent back to Cobham where he will be assessed by Chelsea doctors for them to know how long he will not be available.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are currently occupying the seventh position on the Premier League standings with seven points after four games played so far.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Joachim Low who is the coach of Germany national team explained that Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger tried all his best to leave the Premier League giants this summer.
Antonio Rudiger has lost his place in the first team at Chelsea under Frank Lampard and was linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge to Spurs and AC Milan.
Last term, the German defender was an important member of the Blues' squad, but he has not played any game for Chelsea this season in the Premier League.
The arrival of Thiago Silva also at Stamford Bridge has also made the first-team action a difficult one for the 27-year-old star.
According to the report on Daily Mail, Low recounted Antonio Rudiger's frustration when it became clear he would not get a transfer away from Chelsea.
