President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated the new Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli.
In a statement posted on the presidency's official Twitter page on Wednesday, October 7, President Buhari advised the monarch to be the leader to all.
"I congratulate you on making history by becoming the first emir from the Mallawa ruling house in 100 years. You deserve the appointment and I am confident you will justify the confidence reposed in you."
"While you bask in the glory of the moment, I want you to be the leader to all and treat all your people fairly in the performance of your duties."
The Nigerian leader advised the new emir to use his position to unite members of the ruling houses and prayed to Allah to grant him wisdom in the discharge of his duties.
"This is a challenging moment and therefore, I want you to use this opportunity to unite all members of the ruling houses for the interest of your people. May Allah grant you wisdom and guidance in the discharge of this responsibility.”
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Bamalli succeeded Alhaji Shehu Idris as he was named the 19th Emir of Zazzau.
Emir Idris who died on Sunday, September 20, was on the throne for 45 years. The respected monarch died at the age of 84.
With his appointment, Ambassador Bamalli becomes the first emir from the Mallawa ruling house in 100 years after his grandfather Emir Dan Sidi died in 1920.
