- Kepa Arrizabalaga has said that he remains committed to Chelsea despite his current challenges
- The Spanish goalkeeper has lost his starting place in Lampard's squad following the arrival of Mendy
- Chelsea comfortably dispatched Crystal Palace in the Premier League without errors at the back last weekend
Kepa Arrizabalaga has insisted that he will continue to fight for his place in Frank Lampard's squad following the arrival of Edouard Mendy.
The Spanish goalkeeper has been dropped to the bench after making series of errors in the games against Brighton and Liverpool this season.
Mendy was then signed from Ligue 1 side Rennes for £22million to solve part of the Blues' defensive problems at the back.
And it has yielded much profit following the 4-0 thrashing of high flying Crystal Palace in a Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge.
Kepa who is currently on duty for Spain ahead of their international friendly with Portugal said that he is still committed to Chelsea despite the challenges.
Kepa told reporters while in camp with the national team:
"I feel good, strong and confident.
"Maybe it is not the perfect situation, but sometimes these things happen. I am confident I will turn my form around.
"I do not have the feeling of being a substitute. We have three goalkeepers and the level is very high.
"He (Frank Lampard) is the coach who chooses the eleven and we have to try to do our best and if we do not play we must try as much as possible."
"In the life of the footballer there are ups and downs. My situation is not the same as last year. I only have to work and show my qualities.
"If I have the opportunity to play I will try to take advantage of it."
Kepa's future under Lampard has continued to raise questions as reports claim the English boss has lost faith in the £71.5million signing from Athletic Bilbao in 2018.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Tammy Abraham had a surprise 23rd birthday bash at his home shortly after Chelsea defeated Crystal Palace by 4-0.
Ben Chilwell and Jadon Sancho were also spotted at the bash understood to be a gathering of 20 friends and family.
One video shows Chilwell laughing with Abraham after spotting him chatting with a blonde.
