Ologbondiyan called on the president to maintain the standard for a free, fair, and credible election as witnessed in the Edo election.
The PDP spokesperson alleged that the sitting governor of Ondo state, Rotimi Akeredolu was scheming to manipulate government institutions to rig the election.
Vanguard newspaper also reported that the party accused the governor and the APC of resorting to violence, threats, and hate comments ahead of the poll.
The PDP said:
“Our campaign, therefore, urges President Buhari to adopt the same Edo stance to ensure a free, fair and credible election in Ondo, without regard to partisan consideration, so that he can leave a legacy of electoral uprightness for which posterity and history can be kind to him.”
The party warned that any attempt to manipulate the electoral process at any level would lead to a breakdown of law and order.
