In line with Nigeria's 60th Independence Day, some clerics under the aegis of the National Inter-Faith and Religious Organizations for Peace (NIFROP), on Friday, September 2, prophesied years of prosperity for the nation.
The clerics at the end of their special thanksgiving praise and prayer session to mark Nigeria's diamond jubilee, declared open heaven on Nigeria and her people.
Speaking on behalf of all the clerics, the chairman of NIFROP, Bishop Sunday Garuba, said the group appreciates God work in Nigeria now and in the future ahead.
Garuba said it is no coincidence that President Muhammadu Buhari is at the helm of affairs at this crucial period in the country's history.
"It is therefore not surprising that God in His infinite mercies so destined that President Muhammadu Buhari would be at the helm of affairs in Nigeria as we celebrate our 60th anniversary."
He declared that all those that rise against Nigeria in the likes of Boko Haram, armed banditry, kidnappings and all forms of criminalities shall be exposed and put to shame in less than no time.
He further called on all Nigerians to continue to preach the message of peace while extending support to President Buhari.
"My dear beloved brothers and sisters, the message God has for us in the 60th independence anniversary is straightforward and can be seen in the book of Isaiah 40:31 “But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”
He also said that he has been instructed by God to tell Nigerians that all the nation's challenges are over because God can hear the cries of the people and has come to their mercy.
"We must continue to preach the message of togetherness. The National Inter-Faith and Religious Organizations for Peace has indeed exemplified this in our composition and various programmes where our Christian and Muslim brothers and sisters have come under one roof and one voice to pray for God intervention in the affairs of Nigeria.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the leadership of NIFROP had organised a prayer session for Nigeria and President Muhammadu Buhari.
Garuba said the prayer session which hosted over 500 clerics and many Nigerians from both the Christian and Muslim faiths was aimed at ensuring God's continuous favour on the country and Africa as a whole.
He urged all citizens of the country to pray for their leader and the leaders of Africa at large.
Also, NIFROP had protested the abduction and killing of the chairman of Adamawa state Christian Association of Nigeria, Lawan Andimi, by members of the Boko Haram group.
NIFROP said urged all Nigerians home and abroad to engage in a nationwide prayer against the activities of the group in the northeast region.
