Lucas Ocampos has emerged Manchester United’s transfer target after the Red Devils failed in their bid to land Jadon Sancho and Ousmane Demebele to the Old Trafford, SunSport reports.
Reports have it that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is preparing a bid for the Sevilla striker after he has only managed to sign Donny van de Beek to the Premier League club during this transfer window.
Recall that United did everything possible to get Sancho valued £108million, but Borussia Dortmund are adamant and are unwilling to let the England international go.
With the transfer window closing on October 5, Manchester United are looking at another possibility of getting a back-up for Antony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood.
26-year-old Ocampos is an Argentine who has been with Spanish outfit Sevilla since 2019 helping the club to Europa League glory last season.
According to the ESPN, Sevilla are prepared to sell Ocampos who scored a breathtaking 17 goals last season for £35million.
The striker is very experienced having played for top clubs including River Plate, AC Milan, Monaco and Marseille.
Ocampos has three caps for the Argentina national team and can play as a main striker or on the wing.
And meanwhile, Ayodeji Sotona has left Manchester United to join French club Nice in a permanent transfer and the Red Devils confirm the 17-year-old has left the club.
Sotona who could not break into the United squad wants first team football and has left England to join the Ligue 1 outfit.
The French club confirmed the deal and hinted that the teenage striker will team-up with the first team immediately.
Legit.ng, however, reported that Ruben Dias has been unveiled at Premier League club Manchester City after the defender signed for the club from Benfica in a deal worth £65million, while Nicolas Otamendi switched the other way.
With the transfer window closing on Monday, October 5, City have so far completed three signings including Ferran Torres and Nathan Ake.
Reports say the deal for Dias is around an initial £62million, with a further £3million subject to add-ons as he signs a six-year deal and had been handed the no.3 shirt.
