Ayodeji Sotona has left Manchester United to join French club Nice in a permanent transfer and the Red Devils confirm the 17-year-old has left the club.
Sotona who could not break into the United squad wants first team football and has left England to join the Ligue 1 outfit.
The French club confirmed the deal and hinted that the teenage striker will team-up with the first team immediately.
"OGC Nice is delighted to welcome a player with such a huge potential. "(He) will join Patrick Vieira’s first-team squad as of this season," Nice said in a statement as cited in SunSport.
Sotona who is a utility player upfront scored a total of five goals for the United U18 side last season.
And top outlet RTE are claiming that Manchester United did everything to retain the player, but he rejected the new offer as he wants to have a feel of first team football.
It was gathered that the Premier League club tabled a fresh three-year-deal for the prodigy, but his quest for first team action forced him to reject the offer as he moves to France.
And this is coming barely two weeks that the player was declared as the quickest player at United after tests were carried out at Carrington.
According to the Daily Mail, Sotona clocked a time of 22.9mph, with Diogo Dalot following in second place with 22.6mph.
Sotona isn't the only player United plan on offloading this week, with Andreas Pereira poised to sign for Lazio on loan.
Meanwhile, Luka Jovic has indicated his interest in moving to the Premier League and has admitted he won’t mind a possibility of joining English giants Manchester United.
The Serbian striker has not been able to properly break into Madrid’s first team where Karim Benzema has been favoured under coach Zinedine Zidane.
Latest reports have it that Manchester United officials have been notified that Jovic wants to move to the Old Trafford.
It was earlier reported that Luka Jovic has been told to go in search for another club by Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane after the Serbian had a troubled first season with the Spanish giants.
