There is no doubt that October 1 comes with a lot of mixed feelings for many Nigerians as the country marks its Independence Day.

The country celebrated 60 years of independence from the British rule and a number of Nigerian celebs took to their social media pages to share their thoughts about the day.

Veteran Nollywood actress, Eucharia Anunobi, seemed to be in good spirits as she dressed up for the occasion with a green and white outfit, just like the country’s flag.

Taking things a step further, the film star shared a message with fans on how to get a better Nigeria.

According to her, people should stop wishing for a better Nigeria but should also do their bit in ensuring it becomes one. She advised that they shun all practices that would dent the image of the country at home and abroad.

In her caption she wrote:

“Don't wish for a better Nigeria. Do your bit . Shun all practices that dent our image here and outside.
WELCOME TO OCTOBER, OUR MONTH OF DOUBLE BLESSINGS. HAPPY 60TH INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY !!!”

Legit.ng had earlier reported that actor, Yul Edochie, said that he could not wish anybody a happy independence day because people were suffering.

He continued by asking what was there to celebrate. Yul went ahead to list some unfavourable things that had gone on in the country such as fuel price increase, electricity tariff hike, bad roads and more.
