Nigerian defender, William Troost-Ekong has completed a five-year move to English Championship side Watford this window.

The Hornets completed announced the arrival of the 27-year-old on their official website, revealing that he will don jersey number five this season.

He became the latest to join coach Vladimir Ivic’s squad as they hope to fight their way back to the Premier League next term. The club said in a statement on their official website that:

"Nigerian international defender William Troost-Ekong has completed a permanent transfer to Watford, the Hornets are delighted to announce.
“A former Netherlands youth international, Troost-Ekong made his senior international debut for Nigeria in 2015 and has since proven himself to be an important part of the Super Eagles’ defence, playing three times at the World Cup in Russia and making six appearances at last year’s African Cup of Nations in Egypt. “He will wear squad number 5.”

Before he parted ways with Italian League side Udinese, the Super Eagles defender played 66 games for them in all competitions and no goal was credited to his name.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Nigeria international Ola Aina has joined the newly-promoted Premier League outfit Fulham on a season-long loan from Torino.

The Cottagers also have an option to make his move permanent in a deal around £11m provided he impresses at the end of his temporary stay this coming season.
