They also defeated Chelsea and Arsenal in their second and third games respectively but are looking ready to defend their title all the way.

Their comeback win against Arsenal on Monday, September 28, ensured Jurgen Klopp’s men are the early pacesetters in yet another season.

Aston Villa, who narrowly survived relegation last season, are also showing some early promise this campaign as they look to secure their Premier League status as early as possible.

Villa sit fourth on the log after winning their first two games and have a game in hand.

The likes of Manchester City and Manchester United are languishing at the bottom half of the standings, sitting in 13th and 14th place respectively, with three points, although they have only played two games.

Defeat to Liverpool slumped Arsenal to fifth in the log, although Arteta’s men will look to bounce back when they take on Sheffield United on Sunday, October 4.

The likes of Burnley, Sheffield United and Fulham are currently the only sides yet to pick up points this season and they all sit in the relegation places.
