Military airstrikes kill scores of terrorists in Lake Chad, Sambisa forest

The Nigerian military has recorded a huge victory against the deadly Boko Haram terrorists in the airstrikes launched on Tuesday, September 22.

The Guardian reported that the Air Task Force of Operation Lafiya Dole attacked the terrorists’ hideouts in the Lake Chad and Sambisa forest in Borno state and killed several of them.

Legit.ng gathers that this was disclosed in a statement released by the coordinator of the Defence Media Operations, Maj.-Gen. John Enenche, on Friday, September 25.

Enenche said the air interdiction was aimed at taking out identified Boko Haram and Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists in the northeast.

He said the task force dispatched Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fighter jets and helicopter gunships, which scored devastating hits on the target buildings, including a logistics facility.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that about four men suspected to be arm suppliers to Boko Haram terrorists were killed by operatives of the Niger Republic army.

The suspected terrorists, who were said to be Libyans, were busted and annihilated on Sunday, August 9, on their way to northeast Nigeria.

The Nigerien forces intercepted the arms suppliers before reaching the border that leads to Nigeria.

In another related report, the military has eliminated several bandits after it bombarded their meeting venue in Kwaimbana forest area of Kaduna state.

The military said that the air raid was conducted after series of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions that revealed the hideout along with a building in the centre of the forest.
