Ahead of the November 2020 presidential election in the United States, President Donald Trump and his siblings are facing a lawsuit courtesy of his niece, Mary Trump.

The Daily Beast reported that Mary is accusing the US president of committing fraud in an attempt to deprive her of millions of dollars associated with the family’s real estate empire. gathers that the lawsuit was filed in a New York court on Thursday, September 24.

Others joined in the suit are President Trump's sister Maryanne Trump Barry and his late brother Robert Trump.

According to Mary, President Trump and his siblings “exploited” the real estate empire left by their father, Fred Trump Sr., and used “it to enrich themselves.”

The lawsuit further stated that President Trump and his siblings "threatened to bankrupt Mary’s interests.”

Mary was also quoted to have said in a statement that Trump and his siblings were supposed to be protecting her as her trustees and fiduciaries when her father died.

She claimed that rather than protecting her, they instead betrayed her by conniving to steal from her and lie about the value of her inheritance.

Meanwhile, as Americans prepare for the forthcoming presidential election, polls are being conducted to evaluate the strength of the two major contenders: President Trump of the Republican party and Joe Biden of the Democratic party.

Biden has been ahead of President Trump in most national polls since the beginning of 2020.

However, while polls are good ways to gauge the mood of the nation by asking voters which candidate they prefer, they're not necessarily a good way to predict the result of the election.

In another report, Biden has highlighted the crucial role the African American community can play in the election.

The former US vice president said that in terms of voting, "the African American community can determine this election".

Biden also stressed the importance of voting in the black community and how it is important to safeguard against voter suppression.
