Alex Telles has become a surprise transfer target for Manchester United as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer continues to struggle in the transfer window which closes on October 5.

United have only completed one signing this summer with the addition of just Dutch midfielder Donny van de Beek so far.

With less than two weeks to the end of summer transfer window, the Red Devils have a very limited time to do business in the transfer market.

Since the transfer saga of Jadon Sancho now quiet, United now turn their attention away as they are in desperate need of more players.

FC Porto are asking just £22.7million for the left-back defender, but the Reds Devils are already on the heels of Real Madrid's Sergio Regulon. United might increase their options of signing the Portuguese defender.

And according to transfer expert Duncan Castles, Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in the 27-year-old who scored 13 goals and provided 12 assists last season.

He told the Transfer Window Podcast: "(United) have been looking for a left-sided, left-footed centre-back and a left-back, or a full-back of some type, preferably a left-footed left-back.
"I can tell you that they've been offered the Porto left-back Alex Telles. Twenty-seven years old, relatively cheap wages, €2m [£1.8m] gross but out of contract in June 2021.
"The agent involved is Pini Zahavi, who does quite a lot of business out of Portugal and actually was involved in some stage in Neymar's deal (to PSG in 2017)."

Meanwhile, earlier reported that Samuel Umtiti could become the fifth player to leave Barcelona since the arrival of Ronald Koeman this summer.

The French defender still has a contract with the Catalans until 2023 but the new manager has listed him among the stars who should be shown the exit doors.

Arturo Vidal, Ivan Rakitic, Nelson Semedo, and Luis Suarez have all parted ways with the Blaugrana as part of the squad overhaul embarked on by the Dutch tactician.

Umtiti joined Barca from Lyon in 2016 but his reign at the Nou Camp has been seriously marred by a series of knee injuries and the club wants him off their payroll.
