Ahead of the Ondo state governorship election, it appears all is still not well in the camp of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP).
According to The Nation, Dighitoi Feku, a member of the ZLP campaign council has dumped the party.
Feku, left the party 48 hours after she was unveiled as a member of the party’s campaign council and defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
She also donated campaign materials to the APC which have already been presented to the Ondo state governor and the party's flagbearer Rotimi Akeredolu at the Government House in Alagbaka-Akure.
The former ZLP member was led by Donald Ojogo, the state commissioner for information and orientation, and Pharm. Raphael Ajaga Ojubulu, another APC chieftain to see Akeredolu.
Feku who hails from Ese-Odo was the secretary of the Women Mobilization Committee (South) of the ZLP governorship campaign organisation.
She is expected to formally join the ruling party in Arogbo Ward 1, at the APC ward meeting.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that Andrew Ogunsakin, the senior special assistant to Governor Akeredolu on political matters for Ondo South resigned his appointment.
Ogunsakin cited political reasons in his resignation letter dated Friday, September 18. He explained that the call to join the train to actualize an aspiration different from what Akereolu and the APC is offering is the reason for his decision.
In other news, the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Eyitayo Jegede, and his ZLP counterpart and deputy governor, were reportedly hatching a grand plan to wrestle power from the incumbent governor of the state.
According to the report, they were making plans to form a working alliance to win the election.
It was gathered that a secret committee set up by the PDP national leadership to firm up details of the arrangement would turn in its interim report.
