Kai Havertz has singled out Tammy Abraham for praise after the Englishman helped him score his firs hat-trick for Chelsea.
Havertz found the back of the net three times as the Blues thrashed Barnsley 6-0 in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night, September 23.
Ross Barkley and Olivier Giroud also got their names on the scoresheet guiding the west London side to a huge win.
But it was the partnership between Havertz and Abraham that proved pivotal, with the pair combining perfectly to down the Championship side.
And Havertz was keen to shift some praise to the England forward who set him for his first Chelsea goal.
"I think he’s (Abraham) a very, very good striker and I think our partnership on the pitch was very good," Metro UK quoted Havertz saying.
"It was our first game together but I like him very much as a striker. For me as a No. 10 it’s very good to play with him," the ex-Bayer Leverkusen star added.
The German international admitted playing alongside Abraham helped him rediscover his spark, having gone without a goal in two of his first appearances in a Chelsea shirt.
It now remains to be seen if Frank Lampard will keep the partnership between the two players going forward.
Lampard has appeared to prefer new signing Timo Werner in the no.9 role played by Abraham on Wednesday night.
