Serbia international, Luka Jovic has reportedly handed Real Madrid his transfer request following an uneventful debut season at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The 22-year-old joined Los Blancos from Eintracht Frankfurt last summer in a six-year deal valued around €60 million.
He made a total of 27 appearances across all competitions last term - scoring twice and assisted two other goals.
SunSport reports that the Serbian was only able to start just four La Liga matches last season having failed to impress Zinedine Zidane after a number of games.
The attacker enjoyed a superb 2018-19 season with his former club - finding the back of the net 27 times and also assisted seven other goals in 48 games in all competitions.
Having struggled for playing time last term, sources close to the player revealed he told the club last week he wants to return to Frankfurt to enjoy more time on the pitch as well as find happiness.
Earlier during the lockdown, Jovic was accused of escaping Real's camp to return to his home country.
It is obvious he is not one of Zidane's favourites having refused to introduce him into games even when trailing the opposition.
In the first match of the new league season, Zidane ignored Jovic as he made changes to try and break the stalemate against Real Sociedad, instead of handing debuts to youth-team products Marvin and Arribas.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Luka Jovic has been told to go in search for another club by Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane after the Serbian had a troubled first season with the Spanish giants.
Report from Spanish outlet AS has it that the manager, in a meeting with the player, requested that he seeks a loan move elsewhere.
Recall that Jovic joined Los Blancos for €60million just before the start of the 2019/2020 campaign, he could only manage 2 goals in his 27 appearances for the Santiago Bernabeu outfit.
