Former Nigeria international, Felix Owolabi has urged Gernot Rohr to build his team around Africa's most expensive player Victor Osimhen.
The 21-year-old joined Italian League giants Napoli from French League side Lille in a deal around €80 million.
Osimhen found a way to justify his big pay after making an impact on his debut last weekend against Parma.
Gennaro Gattuso's men struggled for over 60 minutes until the former Wolfsburg attacker came in and helped them grab in the space of 14 minutes.
Nigeria's head coach Rohr recently released the names of invited players for the friendlies against Tunisia and Ivory Coast with striker topping the list.
Owolabi has however urged the 2019 AFCON bronze-winning manager to find a way and get the best out of the striker.
“I think as at today, Osimhen is the best thing we can talk about, as far as Nigerian football is concerned. And if I were the coach of the national team, I will build my team around that boy,” Owolabi told the Guardian.
“For a very long time, after my tenure, and that of the USA ’94 World Cup group, I have not seen a matchmaker in the Eagles’ team.
“I want to say that this boy is something else. He is a very fantastic player and I advise the handler of the national team to devise a means of making the best use of him.
“There are at times when a coach will have such a unique player and he is confused about how best to use him… not every coach knows how to use such a player.”
Osimhen has made nine appearances in the colours of the Super Eagles with four goals credited to his name, and he will be expected to play a key role in Nigeria’s AFCON qualifiers against Sierra Leone in November.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Nigerian star Victor Osimhen made his debut for Napoli after making a huge money switch from Lille to the Serie A side.
Although he failed to find the back of the net, his introduction in the 61st minute turned things around for The Parthenopeans.
It took Gennaro Gattuso's men just two minutes after the 21-year-old came on before finding the back of the net.
