Matteo Guendouzi fell down the pecking order at Arsenal and now the 21-year-old has handed in a transfer request in a bid to secure a move away from the Emirates’ club, L’Equipe reports.

The 21-year-old French star last made an appearance for the club back in June during their 2-1 loss to Brighton in the Premier League.

Club manager Mikel Arteta has since not listed the player for a game either in the starting line-up or from the bench since then.

The midfielder has now asked the club he would like to leave amid interests from clubs in Italy, Spain and his home country France.

Guendouzi has played more than 50 times in the Premier League for Arsenal, but does not seem to have a future at the club anymore.

Arteta is also looking to bringing in either Houssem Aouar or Thomas Partey.

Meanwhile, Alex Runarsson has completed his switch from French Ligue 1 outfit Dijon to Arsenal as he signs a four-year contract with the Gunners, the Premier League club announced.

The goalkeeper will be handed the number 13 shirt as he is billed to become the second-choice goalkeeper after Bernd Leno.
