Arturo Vidal has dumped Spanish club Barcelona and has officially sealed his deal to Italian club Inter Milan.
The Chilean has signed his two-year contract with Inter, including an option for a third, after arriving from Barcelona for free.
It was gathered that his former club Barcelona and Inter Milan reached an agreement for the transfer of the player and the Italian team will pay the Spanish 1 million euros in variables.
The 33-year-old leaves Barcelona after 96 games, 11 goals and 10 assists in all competitions for the Catalan giants since arriving from Bayern Munich in summer 2018.
He follows Ivan Rakitic in heading out of Barcelona this summer with further departures expected before the transfer window closes on October 5.
Right-back Nelson Semedo is expected to be the next player out of the door, while Luis Suarez’s future remains uncertain.
Captain Lionel Messi and Arturo were inseparable since the Chilean joined Barcelona from Bayern Munich with both players visibly seen as friends both on and off the pitch.
And the Argentine earlier confirmed that the Chilean has left the club in an emotional message, describing ‘his friend’ a phenomenon.
Messi wrote: "These years were two years of sharing many things and you made yourself notice a lot, the dressing room will miss you.
"I wish you all the best in this new stage at your new club. We will cross again, for sure.
"I only knew you from facing each other and you always seemed like a phenomenon to me, but then I was lucky enough to meet you personally and you surprised me even more."
