Juventus have reportedly shifted focus to re-signing Alvaro Morata following their failure to land Barcelona outcast Luis Suarez this transfer window.
The Old Lady recently parted ways with Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain on mutual consent with new boss Andrea Pirlo making a structural adjustment in the team.
Some quarters claim the Uruguayan failed to complete a £13.5 million move to the Turin club, while another source reveals that the former Liverpool star is close to joining Atletico Madrid.
However, with the October 5 transfer deadline fast approaching, the Old Lady have now shifted focus to the Spaniard who once represented them between 2014 and 2016.
SunSport added that Juve also have their eyes on Edin Dzeko and former youngster Moise Kean in a bid to strengthen their attack.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that the Allianz Stadium side has offered £9 million to sign the Atletico Madrid forward on loan.
They also include an option to make his deal permanent at a later date and this means Atletico will be able to free up space for the arrival of Suarez before the transfer window shuts.
The Sun reports that Diego Simeone's side was linked with a move for the 33-year-old over the weekend following the collapse of his move to Juventus.
Despite having one more year left on his current deal, the new Barca boss has informed the prolific goal scorer that he has no future at Camp Nou.
Atletico are one of the La Liga teams badly hit by the outbreak of coronavirus, which means they have to sell before they can make any signing this window.
Los Rojiblancos had to pay a sum of £58m in July to seal a permanent move for the Spaniard from Chelsea having spent 18 months with them.
Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici told Sky Sports Italia on Sunday:
"Suarez can be removed from that list.
"The time it takes to get the passport is longer than the transfer deadline or the moment we can hand in the Champions League squad lists.
"We evaluated the Suarez option when it was proposed to us. He was in the process of getting Italian citizenship, so we evaluated the possibility of registering him in time.
"It is not possible, so he was never really close."
Legit.ng earlier reported that Luis Suarez has accepted to join Atletico Madrid after Barcelona terminated his contract as he can now join their rivals as a free agent, according to Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano.
It was gathered that the Uruguayan has already accepted by days to join Atlético Madrid as he now officially part ways with Barça to move on as a free agent.
The Uruguayan is reportedly furious with the Barcelona new manager Ronald Koeman over his brutal sixty-second phone call to end his career at the Catalan club.
