Jose Mourinho is reportedly planning to help Tottenham Hotspur to sign Manchester United flop Jesse Lingard this window.
The 27-year-old was not dressed for the Red Devils 3-1 home defeat to Crystal Palace earlier this weekend with new arrival Donny van de Beek scoring the only goal for the hosts.
Despite scoring four goals and two assists across competitions for United last campaign, he seems to have fallen down the pecking order under Norwegian boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
With his contract set to expire next summer, Lingard could reunite with his former boss at the North London Stadium.
The 57-year-old has completed the signing of Sergio Reguilon and Gareth Bale - though, the 31-year-old is back to his former club on a season-long loan deal with an option to make it permanent.
Sport Bible quoting Daily Star reports that Spurs might be willing to offer Lingard a deal as they continue to add quality to their squad.
Sources close to the player also reveal that the forward has tried speaking with Solskjaer over his future but nothing positive seems to be coming out of the discussion.
Meanwhile, the 'Special One' is hoping that adding the 27-year-old to his fold might help them challenge for a top-four place this season.
Although, former Red Devils star Luke Chadwick recently claims that Lingard still has plenty left to offer Solskjaer at the Red Devils.
"Jesse Lingard's obviously got a great history at the club, coming through the academy [...]," he told CaughtOffside.
"[He] got into the first-team, had some real good spells and probably suffered due to his personal situation affecting his form last season.
"He understands the game really well in terms of his movement off the ball."
