Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has sounded a note of warning to his players after their disappointing defeat to Crystal Palace at Old Trafford on Saturday, September 19.
Wilfried Zaha's double and one goal from Andros Townsend were enough to sink the Red Devils at Old Trafford in their season opener.
The three goals rendered Donny van de Beek's goal a mere consolation as the United new boy opened his goal account on his debut.
And Solskjaer believes that was the only positive from the clash, bemoaning his wards' lackluster performance against the Eagles.
"We have to all look at ourselves in the mirror. We can play so much better than today. If you look at the players we have on the pitch and on the bench, we have to look within first," Daily Mail quoted Ole saying.
"It was an off-day. Everyone knows they can improve, and we need to improve quickly. Today was a performance you don’t see often. These players are better than that," he added.
Townsend scored the opener inside just seven minutes of the match before Zaha doubled the advantage in the second half with a controversial penalty.
However, Van de Beek pulled one back for the hosts before Zaha put the game beyond the Red Devils with just minutes to stoppage time.
The Old Trafford dwellers will now take on Brighton in their next league fixture with the hope of making amends from their poor performance against Palace.
Legit.ng earlier reported that A brace from Wilfred Zaha and a well-taken goal by Andros Townsend were enough for visitors Crystal Palace to defeat Manchester United 3-1 right at the Old Trafford for the second straight season.
Palace grabbed all three points on Saturday, September 19, as they battled hard to ensure they maintain the 100% record start to their Premier League season.
The first goal of the game came in the 7th when Tyrick Mitchell played a good ball down the left to Schlupp, who held off Lindelof too easily and drove a low cross towards the far post.
