Gonzalo Higuain has joined Major League Soccer (MLS) side Inter Miami hours after terminating his contract with Juventus.
The Argentine striker officially left the Turin club by mutual consent and joins his former teammate Blaise Matuidi at the David Beckham owned side.
“First of all, I want to thank Inter Miami for the effort it has made to sign me. I think it will be a beautiful experience in my life. It’s what I was looking for - a new experience, a new league and a beautiful city. I’m really happy to be here and that it’s official,” said Higuain.
“My goal is to try to transmit all the experience I acquired in Europe and to help the team grow. I feel good, I feel whole as a player. I’m motivated to try a new league.
"Individually, my goal is to demonstrate that I can contribute and continue playing great football here, and I hope I can achieve that because I have all the tools necessary to succeed. Inter Miami is a team in construction but there is already a good base to reach important goals."
The 32-year-old had spells with Real Madrid, Napoli, Juventus and loan spells with Chelsea and AC Milan.
He won three league titles with Los Blancos and scored a record breaking 35 Serie A goals during his spell with Napoli.
Higuain won the Coppa Italia with the Naples side and enjoyed three Serie A trophies with the Bianconeri.
The former Argentina international will be a good addition to Inter Miami's squad that have struggled to score goal this season.
They currently sit in bottom place in the Eastern conference scoring just nine goals in 11 matches in their debut MLS campaign.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Italian League giants, Juventus, have paid Gonzalo Higuain £17 million in compensation after terminating his contract with them.
The Argentine forward has now been linked with a move to Major League Soccer side Inter Miami in the coming days.
Higuain joined the Old Lady from Napoli for €90 million in 2016 and scored 66 goals and 16 assists in 149 appearances.
