As intrigues continue to play out in the politics of Ondo ahead of the state guber election, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of masterminding the attacks on the campaign team of its flagbearer, Eyitayo Jegede.
Jegede's campaign buses were attacked on Wednesday, September 16, by suspected thugs in Oba-Akoko in Akoko SouthWest local government area of Ondo state.
In a statement released in Akure, the state capital, by Eyitayo Jegede Campaign Organisation (EJCO) director, Samuel Fasua, PDP said three vehicles in the convoy of its flagbearer were badly damaged.

Fasua said that during the attack, five persons sustained varying degrees of injuries while Jegede himself was held hostage by gun-wading thugs.
Fasua accused Governor Akeredolu of destroying the campaign of Jegede, calling President Muhammadu Buhari and the inspector-general of police to urgently wade into the issue.
Also sharing the pictures of the attack on his Twitter page, Jegede wrote: "This afternoon, our campaign entourage was attacked by APC thugs at the Palace of the Oloba of Oba Akoko in Akoko South West LGA. Shots were fired in a clear attempt at assassination. Some were injured & vehicles destroyed."
