Adams Oshiomhole has lifted the lids on the road accident in which his convoy was involved, with the former national chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) describing the incident as "a natural accident."

Oshiomhole, who is taking his pound of flesh from Godwin Obaseki following his irreconcilable political feud with the Edo governor, however, noted that some people truly wanted him dead.

The former Edo governor made this known in an interview with Vanguard, noting that the incident is due to the "usual recklessness of our drivers."

APC later described the incident as an "assassination attempt" on Oshiomhole who was rescued out of the scene of the incident unhurt.

"Without prejudice to police investigations, eyewitnesses account of the incident suggest, and we believe rightly too, that this was an assassination attempt, targeting Comrade Adams Oshiomhole," APC media campaign spokesperson John Mayaki said in a statement.

Speaking on the same incident with just days to the Edo guber poll, Oshiomhole called for an investigation on the road crash.

The former APC national chairman expressed sadness over the death of the two back-up security operatives.

"To be honest with you, I think it is a natural accident. This is my personal view," Oshiomhole said.
