- The pair had to be separated by team mates as they were on the verge of coming to blows
- Arteta started both on the bench as Arsenal cruised to a 3-0 victory over Fulham
- Ceballos only recently returned to the side for a second loan spell from Real Madrid
Arsenal duo Dani Ceballos and Eddie Nketiah were caught on camera having a heated altercation moments before kick off against Fulham on Saturday, September 12.
The pair, who were both left on the bench for the encounter against the Cottagers, were seen pushing and shoving each other and had to be separated by team mates.
The incident seemed to have been sparked off by Nketiah’s discontent at his team mate Ceballos following a rash-looking challenge during a training drill.
Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand who was working as a pundit on the day however played down the incident as a normal occurrence.
“Sometimes it gets heated, you’ll see that once or twice a week at the training ground. It just so happens we’ve been here to see it. I wouldn’t be too disappointed with that,” Ferdinand analysed.
Both Nketiah and Ceballos were started on the bench for Arsenal as Mikel Arteta started with an odd midfield consisting of Mohammed Elneny and Granit Xhaka.
In attack, the gaffer gave new signing Willian a start alongside Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.
Arsenal as a team will not be too worried about the incident as they went on to win the London derby courtesy of goals from Aubameyang, Lacazette and new signing Gabriel Magalhes.
Nketiah eventually was given a chance in the game though it came late on when he replaced Lacazette who had a fairly decent performance.
For Ceballos, he only recently secured a return to Arsenal after from Real Madrid on a second loan spell.
