So many times people stand and watch as a crime takes place in South Africa because they are too afraid of getting hurt themselves.

While self-preservation is not necessarily a bad thing, it does show that people tend to put the worth of their own lives above others.

However, there are many individuals who could be dubbed heroes because of their selfless bravery. A shocking video was shared online showing a thug attempting to kidnap a girl in broad daylight while she was dining with her mum.

Luckily, a quick-thinking member of society saw what was happening and he reacted immediately, tackling the kidnapper to the ground.

According to Yusuf Abramjee, the incident took place at Bella Napoli, Goldman Crossing, Florida, West Rand.

The man's heroic actions led to the arrest of the criminal.

Meanwhile, previously reported that 35 suspects involved in kidnapping, armed robbery and other heinous crimes across Nigeria were arrested by the police.

A statement by the Nigeria police indicated that the arrests were made by the operatives attached to the Intelligence Response Team (IRT).
