Less than four weeks to the conduct of the Ondo state governorship election, the founder of Inri Evangelical Spiritual Church, Lagos, Primate Ayodele, has made a revelation about the poll.
In an exclusive interview with Nigerian Tribune, Primate Ayodele warned Governor Rotimi Akeredolu not to be overconfident about his victory, adding that there is fire on the mountain for him.
Legit.ng gathered that he said some of the people around Governor Akeredolu would betray him during the election.
He said if the governor fails to watch his back, his victory would be upturned, saying that those claiming to support him would turn their back and give supports to one of his opponents.
Ayodele, however, advised Akeredolu to re-strategise, adding that his victory is sure if he can work on his campaign and be serious.
"In Ondo, Akeredolu must not sleep. There is fire on the mountain. He should work; some of the people who surround him will stab him at the back.
If care is not taken, those who claim to support him will support one of the candidates against him. He needs loyal people so that they will not upturn his victory.
He must re-strategise. Some APC members are still angry with him. If he can work on his campaign and be serious, he will return for another term," he said.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that Primate Ayodele prophesied that Governor Godwin Obaseki will floor his rivals in the election and retain his seat.
The Christian leader called on Governor Obaseki not to fold his arms and do nothing about security in the state, especially during the election because, according to him, his opponents are ready to give their lives to claim power from him.
He also called on the governor to guard against invalid votes and take the female electorate in the state seriously.
In another report, Governor Akeredolu on Monday, September 7, hit hard at his predecessor in office, Olusegun Mimiko, over the incoming governorship election in the state.
It was reported that the governor also berated the embattled state deputy governor and candidate of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) for the election, Agboola Ajayi.
