They say the grass is always greener where you water it. Perhaps it is on the premise of this wise saying that Pastor Josephine Nguuh of Christ Is the Answer Ministries (CITAM) reminded married couples to continue working on strengthening their relationships.

Opportunity for cheating

Speaking in Hope FM, the woman of God urged couples in matrimony to avoid living far from each other because, according to her, the distance creates a vacuum for infidelity in marriage.

The pastor said couples should try and live together unless it is completely impossible.

"Living far away from one another as couples brings an opportunity to sin. Try to live together unless it is completely impossible. It is the sure way to grow strongly together," she said.

Open communication in marriage

Nguu also asked lovers in a union to embrace honest communication especially when cheating has invaded their marriages.

She said spouses should talk to each other if they feel the love for their partners is dwindling.

"Be open, be honest and share your areas of weakness and help one another- Marriages work, it is hard work but it is good work," the cleric said.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that the general overseer of Living Faith Church Worldwide aka Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, spoke on the issue of marriage and the place of a wife.

On his ministry’s Instagram page on Thursday, September 3, the man of God said that total submission from the wife to the husband is the only condition for a fruitful marriage.

The clergyman added that until that is done, every other thing the woman tries to do does not matter.

He said that a woman who does not submit is disobeying her maker. Bishop Oyedepo said the principle is also applicable to women who are ministers of the gospel. He said they still have to submit even if the man is not a minister.

Referencing the bible in Ephesians chapter 5 verse 22, the man of God said that an obedient wife is always precious to her husband.
