Man United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could reportedly give Marcos Rojo a second chance at Old Trafford ahead of the new season.
Rojo had widely been linked with a summer exit having initially made a return to boyhood side Estudiantes on loan back in January.
However, the coronavirus pandemic hampered his stay with the Argentine club, making just one appearance with them.
With the loan deal expiring at the end of last term, Rojo had no choice but to return to United with the hope of having his future sorted before the start of the new campaign.
Mirror UK citing ESPN now reports, the towering defender could be afforded a fresh lease of life with the Red Devils after putting in impressive displays during training.
It is understood the 30-year-old has been willing to partake in double sessions to the delight of his manager.
The development came just days after the Argentine international described his return to United as a "bittersweet" affair.
"I have to say goodbye and I go to sleep choking, with a bittersweet taste, and tasting the anger of knowing that the effort and the desire to return did not bring much football," he posted on Instagram after he left Estudiantes.
Rojo, who joined the Old Trafford dwellers back in 2014, has just a year left on his current deal with the Manchester club.
Recall that Rojo's match winner for Argentina sent Nigeria out of the 2018 World Cup.
